The province of NTB will soon be one step ahead in terms of information services. The Australia Indonesia Partnership for Decentralization (AIPD) prepares software or IT-based information service applications for the provincial government’s Information Management and Documentation Officer (PPID). Applications make it easier for people to access information from the government.

The information service application called the e-Publik Information System yesterday began to be socialized to all PPIDs within the Provincial Government at the Department of Transportation, Communication and Informatics. In not too long, this application will be officially launched.

The Provincial Coordinator of the Center for Regional Information Studies (PATTIRO), an institution that is an AIPD partner in NTB, Hendriardi told the Lombok Post after the simulation and outreach said that the application would be planted in the main PPID of NTB Province at Dishubkominfo and in PPID at the Office of Youth and Sports Education, Office of Public Works and Health Service. “The application will make it easier for PPID to document and manage data that is not classified as exempt information. The data is stored in digital form on a server owned by the regional government,” said the former Somasi activist.

Available data will be connected online, data can be accessed 24 hours. The application also allows data to be searched quickly. And even near real-time. “It’s like a data bank. Or PPID’s digital library,” said Hendri.

This application also makes it easier for applicants not to have to come to an office with an agency that has data. Applicants only need to enter the application period owned by the PPID by entering the application. If the data has not been inputted into the data bank, then with the application recorded automatically, the PPID will find the data in question. “As stipulated in the Law on Public Information Disclosure, PPID will prepare the information within ten days. And if you haven’t got it, PPID can get an extension for another seven days,” he explained.

This IT-based information service application is the first time it has been implemented in Indonesia. It is planned that a similar application will be launched by the Minister of Home Affairs in East Java and in Malang Regency, after first launching in NTB. “After the socialization and simulation that we are holding today, as soon as possible, NTB will launch this application,” he explained. .

In the future, through this application, the Ministry of Home Affairs will also be able to directly monitor the performance of local government officials in public services.
