A. Background
Banten Province, as a region experiencing rapid development dynamics, faces serious challenges in maintaining environmental balance, primarily due to land conversion, industrial activities, and continuous population growth. These conditions have the potential to degrade environmental quality if not balanced with sustainable conservation and greening efforts.
Based on data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Banten Province’s Environmental Quality Index (IKLH) over the last five years has indeed remained in the “moderate to good” range according to national classification. However, a consistent declining trend in achievement signals that a “business as usual” approach is no longer adequate. A more adaptive and innovation-based service transformation is needed to ensure sustainable improvement in environmental quality, especially through strengthening risk-based environmental supervision, refining real-time quality monitoring systems, and enhancing multi-stakeholder collaboration in conservation and public education.
The involvement of industry in this activity is also a form of corporate social and environmental responsibility (Corporate Social Responsibility/CSR) oriented towards sustainability. Meanwhile, active community participation is the main key to the success of tree-planting movements, as environmental preservation cannot be carried out by one party alone, but must be a collective movement of all components of the nation.
Through the spirit of “Green Collaboration: Moving Together with Industry and Society to Plant for a Sustainable Banten,” the HMPI and BMN 2025 activities are expected to foster collective awareness, expand green spaces, and strengthen a shared commitment to making Banten a green, sustainable, and resilient province against climate change.

B. Objectives
This activity aims to:
- Build multi-stakeholder collaboration in maintaining and improving the environmental quality in Banten Province.
- Increase public awareness about the importance of trees for life, especially in maintaining ecosystem balance and environmental quality.

- Reduce the impact of climate change by increasing green cover capable of absorbing carbon dioxide.
- Re-green, especially critical lands in Banten Province.

G. Corporate or Private Sector Participation
Corporate participation in the commemoration of Tree Planting Day plays a crucial role in environmental preservation efforts and promoting sustainable development. As part of society, companies not only have economic responsibilities but also social and environmental respons responsibilities. Through active involvement in tree planting activities, companies can demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR). This involvement is a tangible form of the private sector’s contribution to mitigating the impacts of climate change, improving environmental quality, and restoring damaged ecosystems.
Beyond providing ecological benefits, tree planting activities can also strengthen relationships between companies and surrounding communities, foster a shared sense of environmental concern, and build a positive corporate image as a development partner oriented towards sustainability. More than just a symbolic activity, corporate participation in tree planting is a long-term investment for the future. Trees planted today will benefit future generations, providing clean air, preserving water sources and creating a healthier and more comfortable environment for all.
