This book is a blend of guidance on the Technology of Participation method drawn from reference sources, together with notes from several of our own practical experiences in facilitating using this method. This book aims to add to the existing body of knowledge on this method and to serve as an alternative approach to participatory decision-making facilitation. This book is a guide for facilitators within an organization or forum.
In particular, this book is intended to help non-governmental organizations (NGOs), both in facilitating the planning of their own internal organizational activities and in community assistance programs, inter-NGO networks/coalitions, as well as for use in planning activities for the grassroots communities they support. The methods in this book can also be used by government institutions, for-profit organizations, cooperatives, and student organizations seeking to carry out participatory decision-making.
