Marking the commemoration of World Right To Know Day (International Right To Know Day), on September 28, civil society organizations that are members of JORMAS P3 NTT issued quite astonishing data. A number of information disputes that have been registered with the Central Information Commission (KIP) for almost a year have yet to receive any response at all. The dispute was registered because several agencies within the provincial government who were asked for information did not provide an answer. “Many agencies have reasoned that information about financial reports is included in state secrets,” said JORMAS in its release.
Responding to this issue, KIP member Yhanu Setiawan promised to follow up on it. According to him, the dispute settlement process in NTT Province has been scheduled for next October. According to him, this delay was due to the large number of disputes that were submitted to KIP. Currently, there are 557 unresolved cases.
