Post 2015 MDGs Stakeholder Meeting in Bali

The Regional Research and Information Center (PATTIRO) through their representatives Widiyarti and Maya Rostanty participated in a series of Post 2015 MDGs Stakeholder Consultation Days on 24 – 25 March 2013 in Nusa Dua Bali, Indonesia. The first series of agendas is the High Level Panel Eminent Person (HLPEP) Side Event discussing related to Low Emission Strategy to reduce global impact on the environment in various sectors. The main agenda that was actively followed was the Academia Stakeholder Consultation Days which involved various participants from academia to discuss priority proposals on the Post 2015 MDGs agenda.

The challenges discussed included: world population, poverty, ecosystems and climate, energy and resources, multilateral roles in the development of the Post 2015 MDGs, global institutional framework for strengthening global partnerships, science and technology for the Post 2015 MDGs development agenda.

Thoughts that were successfully discussed and agreed upon included, among others, the Post 2015 MDGs agenda facilitating human development capacity development in its goals, good governance in all bureaucracy as the key to delivering the best service to the community, community capacity building through community centers, raising local knowledge, increasing community capabilities to get a more prosperous life, integrated energy policy, education indicators increased from quantity to quality, raised local wisdom in budget planning to influence the process of delivering public services.
