In 2016, the Human Development Index (HDI) of Bandung City reached 80.13. This figure shows that the quality of people in the city of Bandung is high. These achievements are supported
one of which is health conditions such as increasing efforts to provide health services in terms of health facilities, human resources in the Health Service and various outreach regarding the importance of prevention and early detection of various diseases.
The Bandung City Government currently has innovations such as the existence of a number of 24-hour health centers, the Layad Rawat program and motorbike ambulances which also contribute to increasing citizens' awareness of health. In terms of service quality, the Bandung City Regional Hospital continues to improve, namely that it is working to become a Class B Hospital. The City of Bandung is also building an international standard Special Hospital for Mothers and Children (RSKIA) which is targeted for completion in 2018.
Apart from the high quality of people and various efforts to fulfill basic health needs, the City of Bandung still has homework to do to free its citizens from the threat of TB disease. With a population of 2.4 million people, the number of TB cases in Bandung City in 2015 reached 7,267 cases, which is the second highest number of cases in West Java.
