Budget Analysis – Maternal and Neo-Natal Health in NTB

The 2013 West Nusa Tenggara Province APBD analysis report presents an analysis of the APBD in the health sector.

For example, an analysis of the nutritional status of infants in NTB yields the following results:

The average nutritional status of infants in NTB in 2011 was better than the previous year. This trend of improving nutritional status has occurred in almost all districts/cities in NTB, except for West Lombok, Mataram City and Central Lombok. The graph above also shows that the highest malnutrition status is in Sumbawa Regency with a total of 0.57%, but it is better than the previous year. While the trend of increasing cases of malnutrition occurred in West Lombok district, namely from 0.15% to 0.33%.

In contrast, in 2010, the status of malnutrition on Sumbawa Island was very worrying with the high finding of cases of malnutrition. The highest case occurred; around 0.60% of infants experienced malnutrition in Sumbawa District and was the highest in NTB that year. Although it decreased in 2011, it was not significant and still contributed the most to the decline in the nutritional status of infants in the Province of NTB.

Bima District was quite successful in improving the nutritional status of infants and even became one of the best in 2011. In 2010, the nutritional status of infants in Bima District was the second worst after Sumbawa District, however it could be reduced in the following year to 0.10%.
