To create a clearer and more focused performance, the Central Information Commission (KIP) in collaboration with PATTIRO compiled a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), at Hotel Santika Bogor, 20-22 February.
In his remarks, KIP Chairman Abdulhamid Dipopramono said that so far KIP did not have SOPs, so it often caused confusion and conflict at work. “The absence of SOPs creates confusion as to who did what. Having an SOP that is less than perfect is much better than having no SOP,” he said further.
This activity itself was attended by 15 active participants consisting of structural officials and staff at the Central IC Secretariat, Experts, and Expert Assistants.
Apart from the participants and the Head of the Central IC, the event was also attended by Deputy Chair of the Central IC, John Fresly, Commissioners Evy Trisulo, Budi Rahardjo and Bejo Untung from PATTIRO, as well as several PATTIRO staff as facilitators. In preparing the SOP, Evy Trisulo, who before becoming a Commissioner was an official at the State Administration Agency (LAN) and had experience in preparing SOPs, acted as a resource person and provided coaching to all participants for three days.
At the end of the activity, participants produced around 30 SOP drafts for several sections namely the General section, Dispute Resolution and Expert Staff and Assistant Experts. Furthermore, the draft will be refined by each group and will be reviewed by all Central IC commissioners before finally being finalized and ratified by the Head of Central IC.
In addition to providing direction for Central IC, the SOP can later also become a reference for regional Information Commissions in preparing SOPs for their institutions.
