The Regional Research and Information Center (PATTIRO) together with USAID CEGAH held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to discuss the draft policy paper regarding the planned revision of Law Number 5/2014 concerning State Civil Apparatus (UU ASN), as well as its impact on the merit system in Indonesia . The event itself was held on Monday (29/5) in the Gondangdia area, Central Jakarta.
PATTIRO Program Manager, Wawan Udin said, PATTIRO really needed this discussion in preparing the policy paper, so that the policy paper could accommodate input from stakeholders.
“Regarding the issue of the ASN Bill, which has a merit system, P3K arrangements, and plans for appointing honorary staff, we need input from stakeholders,” said Wawan.
Wawan continued, making the policy paper entitled “Considering the Revision of the ASN Law and its Impact on the Merit System in Indonesia” was to provide input to the government and the DPR regarding the revision of the ASN Law which has only been running for two years.
Apart from PATTIRO, the discussion itself was attended by nine other institutions, including, the State Civil Apparatus Commission (KASN), the Institute for Study and Advocacy for Independence (LEIP), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) CEGAH, the Presidential Staff Office, the Apparatus Institute Negara (LAN), Edelman, AAKI, Unimelb and KPPOD.
