Launching of Gender-Mainstreaming National Strategy through Gender-Responsive Budgeting & Planning

Launching of National Strategy of Gender-Mainstreaming (Stranas PUG) through Gender-Responsive Budgeting and Planning (PPRG) is carried out by the Ministry of National Development Planning / Head of National Agency for Development Planning (Bappenas), Mr. Armida S. Alisjahbana. Bappenas has coordinated drafting Stranas PUG with the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (KP3A), and the Interior Ministry (Kemendagri) with the support of United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the United Nations Empowerment of Women (UN Women). In 2012, Stranas PUG through PPRG has been confirmed through a Circular Letter signed by four Ministers as the implementation team (Minister of National Development Planning, Minister of Finance, Interior Minister, and Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection).

In the Stranas PUG through PPRG document that is issued on March 5, 2013, there are two attachments which is PPRG Implementation Guide for the Ministries/Organization, and PPRG Implementation Guide for Local Government. The drafting team consists of four Ministries with the support of The Asia Foundation and PATTIRO. This implementation guide is a technical document that assists central and local government in drafting the gender-responsive budgeting and planning through GAP and CBS’s instrument.
