Request for Information Movement Getting Widespread

Community member does not seem to squandered the existence of Information Law (UU KIP). This law guarantees used to obtain a variety of information directly related to daily life of citizen. The following is the story of request for information movement in NTT and NTB.

Ngada, NTT
Ngada Civil Society Network (JASMIN) on June 7, 2013 was requesting information such as DPA of health department in Ngada district. After three days, exactly on June 10, 2013, JASMIN obtain the requested documents. Based on these documents JASMIN conducted an analysis of one of the budget items, namely procurement of dog rabies vaccine (VAR). There was found that VAR procurement is not maximized, whereas during the past three years the dog bite victims have been increasing.

Based on this analysis, JASMIN proposed an increase of VAR procurement budget to the government through the Department of Health. The Government agreed to propose it during regional budget 2013 (APBD) discussion

West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara
On July 15, 2013 Ibu Mutiah and Ibu Wirasanti two women who represented the community member group of kuripan utara village was requesting information related to the installation of clean water program information for residents including a distribution area and the requirements that must be met. Application letter received by Mr. Fero as PDAM officers. The request letter was proceed to Health Department which is has allocated budget for Supplementary Feeding program (PMT) for infants / toddlers from 2010-2013. This is also to see if there is an increase or decrease in the budget each year. And any other information requested was the number of infant / toddler in 2010-2013. It is to see the match among targets. This document allocation will be used for budget analysis and to public advocacy on budgets.
