Wednesday, 31 July 2013, at the BK3 meeting room, a limited discussion event was held on the Revision of the Keerom Regional Regulation Draft concerning the Working Procedures of Keerom Information Management and Documentation Officers. The process of finalizing the draft Perbup which was originally introduced on 25 June 2013 to representatives of Key SKPDs: Education, Health, Bappeda, Public Works and Diskubkominfo, followed by adjustments on 11 July 2013 in Papua Province, was finally finalized.

The process goes familiar. There are two drafts that are side by side for study, namely the Banten version and the draft version of the harmonization that has been worked on by the legal division of Keerom and the Papua Regional Office of Law and Human Rights.

There are many things that have been improved and adapted to the conditions at Keerom. The interesting thing is that the term “guidelines” is replaced with “work procedures”, so that it becomes more concrete. Not only that, the most interesting news was: “The Keerom Regency Government, represented by the participants who attended agreed that: “the cost of obtaining copies and/or sending public information if needed is borne by the regional government of Keerom Regency (related SKPD)” [article 16 , paragraph 2, letter b). The Keerom Regional Government does not want the information applicant to incur costs, so all costs are borne by the relevant SKPD. “There is no charge whatsoever for the information requester,” said Assistant II, Drs. Adrianus Samonsabra.

The draft Perbup regarding: “Work Procedures of Keerom Information Management and Documentation Officers” will be disseminated to all Keerom SKPDs while asking for input, before being signed by the Keerom Regent to become a Keerom Regent Regulation.

Present as well as presenting the harmonization of this Perbup draft were the Head of the Legal Division of the Papua Regional Office of Law and Human Rights, Sutrisno and two of his staff. Meanwhile, from the Keerom Regional Government, there were Assistant II, Head of Legal Division, Health and Education Legal Section Staff.
