Education is an inseparable part of conscious efforts to achieve human welfare and prosperity. Education is an absolute requirement if a nation, society, community or family wants to achieve a better, prosperous and sustainable standard of living. Therefore, education is a national priority set by the Government to reduce poverty, develop the economy, and improve social welfare.
For this reason, the allocation of Government funds, both from the APBN and APBD, is spent mostly on this strategic sector. It has even been stipulated in the state constitution, the budget allocation for education must reach 20% of all government spending.
To spend this large budget, the Government has prepared many programs, and among these programs that have strategic value and obtain a large portion in policies and allocations is the School Operational Assistance program. Or BOS for short. This program is the mainstay of the Government to increase the number of children attending school by closing opportunities for closed access to educational institutions due to financial factors.
To provide strong support for the Government’s efforts, PATTIRO conducts policy studies, based on analysis of laws and regulations and field data to map the problems being faced in the implementation of these policies. And this book is the final manifestation of the policy review efforts carried out by PATTIRO.
